Audience: First time buyers of market swine, and all buyers of a market swine.
Business Problem and Solution: Hopping Show Pigs has recognized that many of their customers purchasing a show pig struggle with how to raise their pig for their market show. This is especially true with first time customers due to lack of knowledge. 95 percent of new customers call with questions their first year of raising their market swine and as many as 65 percent of past customers call with questions.
To better support the customers, Hopping Show pigs has decided to design a course that could be emailed to all new customers after purchasing their market swine that will guide them through the process and answer the most frequently asked questions. This course is designed to decrease the number of new customer calls to 50% and returning customers to 30%.

Process:
This course was developed after talking to several swine production business and what their biggest issue was in breeding market swine. Every person I spoke to, said that supporting their customers after they take their market swine home was the most time consuming aspect of their business. They spend a lot of time answering the same questions over and over. So, I created this course with content to cover the most commonly asked questions. I started by creating a design document and sharing with swine producers to ensure I was covering the most commonly asked questions. Then I moved onto a storyboard and received feedback on adjustments. I also created a job aid that can be used as a reference after the course. I built in a couple of knowledge checks during the course, with a final assessment at the end as level two evaluations. For level three evaluations, the swine producers would follow up with clients to answer any additional questions they may have and receive feedback on the course.

Audience: Managers of employees with hearing disabilities Optional: All employees

This course was created to give managers strategies to include and support employees that may have hearing disabilities.

Process: This course was developed by using online resources on how employers can support hard of hearing employees. I followed the ADDIE method to create the course. By looking at data about how employees with disabilities struggle in the general workforce, I was able to narrow my research to Deaf and Hard of Hearing disabilities. I then began by outlining a design document and creating a storyboard to develop the content of the course. After developing the course, I shared it with other instructional designers for feedback. I included a level 2 quiz at the end of the course. I could see this course as being a part of a mini-series of courses on supporting employees with disabilities.

Audience: Frist time customers that recently purchased an RV
Business Problem and Solution: RV World has received feedback from customers about their purchasing process. One concern that has arisen is that first time RV buyers feel the walkthrough of their RV and how to set it up is too fast and overwhelming. By the time they go to a campground for the first time, they have forgotten or don’t feel confident in properly setting up their RV. To better support the customers RV World has decided to design a course that could be emailed to all new customers after purchasing their RV that will guide them through the process of items they need to properly set up their RV and the steps to set their RV up on a campsite.

Process: As an RV owner myself, I have gone through the process of purchasing an RV and then not remembering what to do the first few times I set it up. I came up with the idea of this course and went around several campgrounds asking other campers if this was something that they would have liked when they made their first purchase. I used these campers as my SMEs for what topics should be included in the course. The next step was to develop my design document to organize the content and begin building my Rise course. I included a drag and drop knowledge check and an end of course quiz. I also included a job aid to reference when the learner is actually at the campground.

Audience: Commercial Landscapers looking to be more environmental friendly. Residential homeowners wanting to create a more natural environment. Employees of native plant nurseries
Business Problem and Solution: Wildflowers Unlimited is a nonprofit that is trying to prompt the use of native plants in personal and commercial landscaping. As a part of their promotional, they want to teach consumers about the benefits of wildflowers. This course is developed to take learners through the benefits of and how to set up a native plant garden. The goal of this course is to create awareness of the benefits of native plants and encourage more people to use native plants in their landscaping.

Drag and Drop
Process: This course was developed based on one of my passions. I am an avid gardener that utilizes native plants in my landscaping. In the landscaping industry there is a big push to be more environmentally friendly, but many companies struggle to see the benefits of using native plants. I developed this course based on research about environmental issues with wildlife habitats and how to combat this issue. Once I outlined important topics, I created a design document and then developed the course. Within the course there is a drag and drop knowledge check and a quiz at the end to assess learning objectives.
