As an instructional designer I love being able to help people become a better version of themselves. I found through my career in education that my passion is supporting adults in their learning. I enjoyed the times I was able to teach others and see when they have that "aha" moment. This passion is what led me to instructional design. I found the Applied Instructional Design Academy (ADIA) and dove right in. I realized that I had found something that I truly enjoyed doing and that challenged me. Through this program, I was able to complete certifications in many areas of instructional design including Articulate programs, designing storyboards and design documents, and more.
I am a natural problem-solver and strive to find ways to make learning engaging and enjoyable. There is nothing worse than sitting through another boring training! Using the ADDIE and SAM models of adult learning, I develop and deign courses that support learners and create courses that will bridge learning gaps. I love to collaborate and have people to bounce ideas off of.
When I am not lost in the world of instructional design, I love to curl up with a good book, work in my garden and be on, or in, the water. I also love to go camping with my husband and son and explore new areas. My goals is to visit all 50 states in my lifetime!
